Hello Wood, :)
It's basically like doing a refresh of Windows.

Hi Brink.
How is that different from performing a Reset PC and selecting to keep personal files (same as a Refresh)? On the other hand..If I understand correctly Reset PC-with Remove everything is the same as a Clean installation. As far as Im aware Reset PC clean installs the latest build if that's what you're running at the time of the Reset and you don't have to wait hours for it to download as in the case of the Start Afresh option. Or..Am I misunderstanding it somehow?
Correct, selecting to "Keep personal files" is doing a refresh.
A clean install involves wiping all partitions on a drive to install a clean copy of Windows 10 on. It's typically performed when setting up a computer or installing Windows 10 for the first time.
A reset is similar to a clean install, but only affects the partition that Windows 10 is currently installed on. A reset is faster to perform than a clean install.
Basically a clean install and a reset end with the same results of having a fresh new install of Windows 10, it's just a matter of how thorough you wanted to be.
One advantage is you don't have to download anything or create a DVD or flash drive, nor worry about UEFI/GPT/MBR/Secure Boot/etc/, nor figure out how to boot a DVD or flash drive. A couple clicks of the mouse and you're done.
Yeah..thats true. From what Ive read though the latest Windows 10 still has to be freshly downloaded first. Because of slow internet...that's over 3 hours for me lol As far as Im aware Reset PC does a clean install or does the same Refresh (if you select to keep personal files) back to the latest build.... no downloads.. so it would be a lot quicker to just use Reset PC
