    update failed for 16241 home edition


    updated Windows 10 Home to bld 16241 from the iso made from another machine. Was running Home edition and wouldn't install insider preview to 16241 so made the iso and installed that way. When I was done I now had unactivated version of windows 10 Pro. I thought everything was tied into digital lic with cpu?

    anyway around this?

    It's not activating because you had a Home license and you upgraded to Pro.
