Every time i try to upgrade through the assistant, i get the following error code: 0xc1900200. Does anyone know what this is and how to fix it? It's being installed on an HP Beats Specical Edition Laptop. Laptop more than meets the specs. Help!!
On another thread the OP found that this error occurred on their PC because...
win 10 version 1607 to 1703 upgrade failure code 0xc1900200...the recovery partition is of insufficient size for the windows 1607 to 1703 upgrade.
So what should I do to resolve this? I really want the upgrade and tried it like 6 times failing each time. Is there a workaround or solution to this problem? Would reinstalling Windows 10 fix it or do I have to wait until its availible through windows update? Btw, if this thread is a duplicate of another mods you can delete it.
Wiping all partitions and doing a clean install should work, but you probably don't want to do that - you'll loose your files and installed apps.
If you can confirm from the install log files that this is your problem, you may be able to make the recovery partition larger with something like MiniTools Partition Wizard. The log files are probably in the hidden C:\$Windows.~BT folder.
We'd first need to see your partitions in Disk Management in order to see if it's feasible in your case.
