The PC you just got will never use a ssd`s full potential as the motherboard only has SATA2, 3 Gigabit per second ports.

To see the full potential you need SATA3 6Gbps ports.

But a ssd will be better then any hard drive.
Hmm... ASUS F2A55? The PDF says it has SATA 3 connectors on it. If that's the MB I have. I'm afraid to open the case - the warranty thing...

Looking back at the Amazon order:

    ASUS Desktop Computer M32BC-B01 AMD FX-Series FX-8310 (3.40 GHz) 8 GB DDR3 2 TB HDD AMD Radeon R7 240 2 GB GPU Windows 8.1 64-Bit

    Cant tell...

Wait, M32BC | Tower PCs | ASUS USA
    says Sata 6.

    I've got 3gb of Win7_HomePrem_SP1_English_x64.iso
burned on my dvd in that drive.

But I changed the boot sequence and apparently it won't boot with that - it goes to the Windows 10 drive. What am I missing?

It does not, it says 4 x SATA 3Gb/s

These are the specs for the M32BC

I have no idea, did you use the program I linked, and did you burn it at the slowest possible speed ?

    I`ve never heard of ashampoo

Oops, I've gotta make a bootable disk out of it. Ashampoo is just a burning program.

Not clear on what that is, but I need to use some kind of process on the Win7_HomePrem_SP1_English_x64.iso that I downloaded, to get it onto the DVD in bootable form.

On the Overview page it says this,

Yet on the specs tab it says this,

Maybe the specs page has a typo, and it should read 4 x SATA 3 6Gbps, but that`s really nothing to worry about.

Until you get a ssd, I wouldn`t give it a second thought.

Let`s get that install dvd burned.
