Maybe the specs page has a typo, and it should read 4 x SATA 3 6Gbps, but that`s really nothing to worry about.

Until you get a ssd, I wouldn`t give it a second thought.

Let`s get that install dvd burned.
Yeah I was just pointing that out, carry on...

Yep should look just like this.

And when you boot from it you should see the words "Press any key to boot from dvd" :)

ACK! I just tried it. BSOD! A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. Uncorrectable hardware error.

It was apparently trying to run it within Windows, but the WRONG Windows?

Oh wait - I tried booting again and now it's asking to install Win7. Wish me luck...

The PC you just got will never use a ssd`s full potential as the motherboard only has SATA2, 3 Gigabit per second ports.

To see the full potential you need SATA3 6Gbps ports.

But a ssd will be better then any hard drive.
3Gbit/s is still easily fast enough for most SSDs unless you have a very fast ssd.

OK, here's where we are with the old PC: I ran the install disk. It installed Windows 7, apparently into some kind of dual boot situation with Windows 10. But it keeps booting and saying it's finishing the install, then booting again, into a black screen and just staying there. Looks like it's hosed, and this install disk isn't gonna save it.

It's sitting there right now, with a black screen and copyright Microsoft Corporation at the bottom.

I get a feeling that what I need to do, is format the hard drive with Windows 7 somehow, then try this again, because it may be really messed up from the Windows 10 hardware fiasco I went through.
