Downgrade from Windows 10 Pro to Home

My laptop originally came with Windows 10 Home Single Language. However, I wanted to upgrade to Pro and I used the generic Windows product key to upgrade. Then, I found out that I didn't need the Pro features so I now want to downgrade back to Home SL. How do I do that?

After downgrading, would Windows be automatically activated?

If it doesn't, just use showkey plus from this forum to read the Windows 10 Home product key stored in UEFI and then manually change the product key to the product key stored in UEFI.

This laptop originally came with Windows 8.1 Home SL. I upgraded to Windows 10 Home SL for free. After upgrading, I did a clean installation.

I wrote down the product key of my laptop from when it was on Windows 8.1 SL. I remember that the product key changed when it got updated to Windows 10 Home, however I forgot to write it down. Is the product key of the Home installation still stored in the UEFI? If not, can I use the product key from the Windows 8.1 installation to activate it?

Just checked using ShowKeyPlus and the OEM key shows that it's for Windows 8.1 Home SL, the original OS of my laptop. It's the same product key as the one I wrote down when I was still on 8.1. Could I use it to activate Windows 10 Home SL?

Yes. But, to my knowledge, you cannot downgrade Windows 10 Pro to Windows 10 Home Single Language. Single Language is it's own separate edition, different than just plain Windows 10 Home.

Damn Microsoft, and they allow Windows 10 Home SL to upgrade to Pro, but not the other way around?
