I hope that works for you.

I ran into the same problem, read that link and applied the registry fix -- and it made no difference. Update still stops and fails very quickly with the same error message.

I had the same problem. After fiddling around with it for a week or more I gave up and did a Clean Install of 15063 then upgraded to 16179. I'm now at 16188, the latest Insider preview.

Now I was able to upgrade to build 16188.1000!

The steps I made was reading somewhere about disconnect my secondary drive (D. Once it done I was able first to install a previous update, but failed again with new error 0x80004005. So I found a youtube video about and even most people were complaining that it was not working it made the job to me.

How to Fix Error Code 0x80004005 in Windows 10! WORKS 100% - YouTube

Remember that at that point I was without the second drive installed.

So far it is solved, but I will not mark this post now because I will wait for the next update and so check if goes ok.
