    Media creation tool.


    Does anyone know if the media creation tool is using creators iso. Last week i used it and it created windows 1511 usb.

    I downloaded the MCT on Thursday, ran it and the resultant .iso-created DVD gave me Version 1607 Build 14393.447 on a clean install. Version 1511 is from November of 2015, Version 1607 is from August 2, 2016 [July Upgrade released Aug. 2].

    A new MCT is release for each new version of Windows. An old MCT will continue to create an iso for the version it was released for, you need to download a new one to get the latest .iso. Right-click on your MCT and select 'Properties', on the 'Details' tab the version number is the same as the OS build of the .iso it will download. The Creators Update is OS build 15063 and so is the version of the MCT you will download from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10 These are the older MCTs for 1511 (OS build 10586) and 1607 (OS build 14393).
