Error When Installing Windows 10 on new Laptop HDD

    Yes, I read through that link, it was definitely very helpful. And I also read that part, however I was unsure of how to do that. Honestly don't know how to load IRST drivers during/before a custom install.

    I also read your post asking if there was a BIOS update, and facepalmed as soon as I read it. That should of been one of the first things I checked, I don't know how I didn't think of that.

    Checked it out, my BIOS was version 204, and the latest was version 216. Updated to 216, and sure enough the option to switch from RAID to AHCI was there.

    I defintiely appreciate all the help! Even though the answer was so simple(hopefully!) I'm about to try and install Windows again now that my SATA configuration is set to AHCI, fingers crossed nothing else goes wrong.
