Build 10240 installed pro not home how to fix

    Build 10240 installed pro not home how to fix


    hi I upgraded my laptop from 8 core to 8.1 to build 10166 pro to 10240 pro but do I need to get iso for 10240 core or re install 8.1 core and windows update build 10240 core. Easiest way please.

    the preview releases have been Pro releases - no core

    As long as you stay in the Windows Insider program, you can use the pro version. However, if you decide to leave the insider program, then you will only have a valid license for Home.

    Not true. If you upgrade a Core release vis Windows Update it becomes a Home release, not pro. If you use the ISO, then it will upgrade to Pro.

    so where to get iso build 10240 home 64 bit to re install so I can stop builds leave insider program but still get full final version 64 bit home.

    from 8 core to 8.1 to build 10166 pro to 10240 pro
    the preview iso downloads have been Pro

    do not worry about Pro or Core - when the RTM is released it will all get sorted out in the end..

    There's no official ISO for this build... But don't worry about it if you're an Insider !
