I am trying to download the latest version of win 10 pro as an iso file. When I go to the - Download Windows 10
I only get options for win 10, will this work on a machine that previously had win 10 pro and install win 10 pro?

The iso is multipurpose. It has Home, Pro and Edu in it - you select at install time (just before selecting where to install it).
Remember CU version is only a week away - if in no hurry install that.

I believe that your download is in .esd file format, ok?

Special atention in newest format of distribuition and actualization called UUP, descripted too in link above...

There is no need to do any conversions with the ISO file downloaded from Microsoft in order to do a clean install with it.
1. Download ISO file from Microsoft.
2. Create a USB flash drive or DVD from the downloaded ISO file.
3. Boot computer from the USB flash drive or DVD.
The Media Creation Tool will do steps 1 and 2 for you, if that is what you select.
