    Hi, i couldn't activate aswell.
You need to clean install it and use the new key provided by Microsoft.

    Here:

    Activate Windows 10

These are official, legal keys provided by MS itself. Worked for me.

Guess I'm doing something wrong, have never had to enter the Product Key nor Activate it, has always shown as Activated on the Properties sheet for This PC, am now on Build 10159.

Which key (Home, Pro, Enterprises) did you use. I've tried the Pro a few ways (copy & past - typed the key in by hand)

or are you saying that ONLY a clean install will activate? I up(d)grated through Windows Update flight builds. The key is accepted, but activation fails. It might be a time things or on the MS server end.

They should be aware of it ... I punched the activate button about 40 times - that will make an impression on the log reader

I'm not going to worry about it ... it's a a preview release and a new process - this one HAS to get worked out.

    Hi there

Have you tried Change Product Code on the activation screen and entering the 10159 key - the keys are in the Post Windows download ISO .

    Cheers

I used the Pro key, and tried upgrading from 10130 using an ISO...It would not activate, instead would give me an error saying the license was not found or invalid.

Only a clean install solved the issue.

I know I never have had to...

This is the first time I was not automatically activated after upgrading to a new build. It seems several people are having this problem as evidenced by seven pages on a Microsoft forum concerning the issue. I realize the product key has changed, but that is not the issue here since the new correct product key was automatically installed during the upgrade. It would appear that the problem here is a Microsoft server side issue. The only solution that has worked for me is the old telephone activation method. From a command prompt type slui 4 and press enter. Then follow directions given.

Edit: If the product activation center computer does not answer then hang up and try the following number 855-469-9468.
