Cannot boot from OEM Windows 10 DVD to clean install - Procedure now ?

I have recently upgraded the SSD on my W7 system to 500GB. I have a pair of mirrored dynamic HDDs for the data which is all safely backed up. All working OK.
However the SSD setting in BIOS isn't yet set to AHCI. As I understand it if I change to AHCI after install I need to go into Registry.....

My grand plan was to disconnect the HDDs. Go into BIOS to change to AHCI. Change boot disk priority to CD as first choice. Then I was going to boot from OEM DVD and simply clean install W10 onto SSD. Then connect up the HDDs delete Appdata stuff and use the W10 move folders location to point to existing data on HDD partitions. Or was this wishful thinking ?

Q 1 : Is the OEM disk in fact bootable and the problem is me ?

Q 2 : Do I have to make a bootable W10 DVD via ISO instead ?

Windows 10 - Clean Install

It may not be booting due to secure boot. If you follow tutorial you can make a USB key. If you use Media Creator you need to have a 4GB key and be on a Windows 10 machine. The process for ISO is also outlined.

To switch from IDE to AHCI you do not have to make any registry changes or reload anything. This is what you have to do. Boot into safe mode:
Safe Mode - Start Windows 10 in

In safe mode, open device manager, uninstall both IDE controllers:

Allow the computer to restart after you uninstall the last IDE disk controller. During the restart, press the key to get into UEFI or BIOS setup, mine is F11. Change the SATA controller to AHCI. Let the computer restart into safe mode again. Cancel safe mode, reboot normally and the AHCI disk controller will be installed.

I would not use an existing DVD unless it had latest version of Windows 10.

Better to create a new one (or better usb flash drive)

Is said OEM disk trying to restore a factory image? You didn't say why or how it won't boot? I made recovery media for my laptop when I bought it. Put an SSD in and it would not work. Various error messages, required partition missing was one. It came down to the recovery media was looking for the larger original drive and couldn't handle the smaller SSD. I just clean installed, which was what I was inclined to do anyway. It was a no brainer to just give up on the recovery media.

Thank you for your replies. I did download and burn an ISO. But would not boot either. So problem had to be at my end. My system has a DVD reader AND a DVD rewriteable drive. I can't remember exactly but at one point I restarted the thing with the OEM in one drive and the ISO DVD in the other. And the thing boots up. And at that moment I felt embarassed.......

Anyway. I ended up installing W10 from the OEM. After having changed BIOS to AHCI setting. (But I hadn't read your point about the ISO being better). Reconnected the mirrored dynamic HDDs and all seems fine. Apart from learning a new OS and reinstalling applications.

Thank you again for taking the time to try and help. I don't think I'll be much help to anyone soon, judging by this episode.
