I never knew that! Does it apply to updating BIOS as well?
Looks like I've done a piece of unnecessary work! But I did learn few new things throughout the process, so ir's a win-win situation. I am so glad I don't have to look at the Win 8.1 anymore. What a relief! ;-)
Not sure what you mean if it applies to the BIOS as well? Are you asking if it was necessary and a waste of time? Never a waste of time although sometimes the updated BIOS or UEFI firmware may have a fix for something that you don't need, like support for a newer processor. When you upgrade the BIOS or UEFI firmware, the old BIOS or firmware is always completely erased.
