No ESD for new build 14986 download?

Downloaded build 14986. Not yet installed. Want to make ESD to ISO conversion, but have no Install.ESD in Windows.BT\Sources! Where is it located, now? Software Distribution folder exists, but Downloads folder does not have just one ESD file, there are a dozen separate parts!

MS stopping us from making ISOs? Last available ISO i've seen from MS site is build 14965.

MS has a new way of updating Insider builds called Unified Update Platform. We no longer have the install.esd.

Winuser: did you happen to eyeball the on-disk structure of what gets downloaded under the UUP regime now? I didn't check on my updated machine. I'm guessing it's just a bunch of update files, but would love to hear any additional intelligence you might be able to share. TIA,

Is there a way to make an ISO from the new method?

I saw on another thread (the news thread that announces availability of the 14986 Insider Preview) that Kyhi (of Rescue tools fame) has some ideas on how to do this that he plans to research and report on in the next day or two. Until then, we're all wondering how (or maybe even if) this is going to work out. Also, I've learned from subsequent research that the UUP stuff winds up in %windir%\SoftwareDistribution\Download (and that some of the cab files there after 14986 downloads occur do indeed include .esd files). But so far, no magic recipe to build ISOs just yet.

    Hi,

May I kindly invite you all to do some further reading in the News thread Ed mentioned ?
There's a way to capture the ESD file but it involves some registry "hacking".

I created an ISO file from that which kind of works.

    Cheers,

Read (past tense) the "news Thread". Didn't see anything about how to make an ISO.
Can you elaborate on the "hack"? And what do you mean "kind of" works?

Yeah, I originally didn't see there were 27 pages to that thread. Thanks! Reading thread, now.

UPDATE: also saw this ESD to ISO tool Update, available here:
    OneDrive

And Thanks EdTittel for link to news thread! All worth reading
