Lost boot disk for disk image of 10 Professional.

I had Windows 10 Professional on my computer which crashed when I was burning a video a couple of weeks ago. The only way to get up and running again was to go to my original Windows 7 disk that I purchased when I got this computer then upgraded to 7 Professional. I had a disk image of the 10 Professional OS, but lost the boot disk that was made in Macrium Reflect when I did the image. How can I make another boot disk that would work? I can't seem to get the image to work from the external Hdd but need a boot disk to use at startup.

That wasn't the only way, another would have been to do a clean install of Windows 10 Professional. Perhaps you didn't have the install media and no other PC to download it.

You do now (a working Win7) so I would download the iso or make USB install media for Windows 10. Do a clean install (you already have a digital licence, so skip the part where it asks for a key, it should activate automatically). Then you can install Macrium Reflect in order to make its boot disk. Finally, use the new boot disk to restore your image.

If you have already installed Windows 7 and only thing you want to do is to restore a Macrium system image, you can simply install Macrium Reflect on your current system, create the boot / rescue disk and restore your image to get back to Windows 10.

See this tutorial for instructions: Macrium Reflect - Backup Restore - Windows 10 Forums. Part One shows how to install it, Part Two how to create the rescue media, and Part Five how to restore your backup.

    Thanks to all

I want to express a huge THANK YOU to all that helped & gave suggestions as how best to get back to my 10 Pro OS from a few month's ago. Now I need to start a new thread.
