Is there a preparation guide for those about to do a reset?

    I'm not sure what more details I can add about the model. It's a Dell Inspiron 7720.

    bro67, should I revert to Legacy? The reason I switched it was because I restarted my computer at some point and it got to a blue screen that would simply flicker endlessly. I couldn't find how to go into safe mode so I looked online for help and found (on another site) someone advising to switch from Legacy to UEFI so that after 2 failed starts it would automatically give that option.

    Stay with Legacy. UEFI is nice if you want to install all of the OEM garbage to control the bios from within Windows. In reality you will find that you are rarely going to have to access the bios settings from within the OS.
