No pi33ing intended. Whatever you were doing in '75 has little or nothing to do with what we're discussing here.
May I remind you that I only responded to your post which used the fact that you have started 1983 to emphasize the validity of the statement which followed. I only pointed out that I have at least as long experience and my opinion is totally opposite.

If you want to scatter your Stuff across multiple drives, more power to you, but in my own experience that's not the way for most users to run their computer.
I really would not use terms like "scatter" and "multiple drives" to explain a system where OS and software are installed on one drive and user data on another. Two drives.

In doing so I have saved my user data at least a couple of times when the system drive has simply stopped working. It only adds an additional layer of security, having no cons whatsoever.

However, you're forgetting that the Registry (which is really a collection of files known as "hives") is STILL on C:\ -- not on D:\. So in fact, your programs are only partially installed on D:.
The majority of the Program is on D:\

And no I did not Forget,

Yes this is what I am trying to find out how to correctly configure on Windows 10.
I seem to recall a situation where upgrading 8.1 ran into problems when the default location of some assets had been moved. Since I don't make such modifications, perhaps you might at least wait until the RTM for Windows 10 is released.

I would also think trying to create a system image would be a nightmare if these same assets were on different drives. If that were the case, it would not matter if you were using the RTM or not.

I don't suppose the possibility of drive failure on one of the drives would worry you if the assets were spread around to several?
