Sam What build are you running now. You are trying to update to 10074 right. You may need to go to Microsoft web site and dl a ISO burn it and try to upgrade install or clean install. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1...n-install.html

Sammy. Some say just keep trying and you will get it done. Me I would build a disk and install that way to see if that would work.

yes you're right i've been pulling my hair with updates from win 7 to win 10 tp ,i was able to update to build 10047 and everything worked great, but for build 10061 and 10074 the whole thing just went crazy not installing or running crazy,so today i finally gave up on updates and made an iso of build 10074 and now all ok,word of advice if you don't have touch pad just uninstall ,Synaptic pointing device, otherwise it will cause you greef, i wish i could get rid of the updates that keeps trying to install "Synaptics driver update for Synaptics SMBus TouchPad"...
i uninstalled it and the update trying to put it back again...
how could i stop this Synaptics driver update activity in Windows 10?...

I had trouble upgrading from 10041 to 10074. It kept failing to install. Then the light bulb went on. I was trying to run the updates as a Standard user. When I switched to the Admin account and ran the upgrade, it installed with the first try. Hand slapping forehead DOH!
