Recreated the bad posts I made today 08.10.2016
Did a search but can't find one important post I made today - so I'll try to recreate it:
I have two SSD drives. The 1TB drive has two partitions (it is a dual boot). The primary partition is for programs only and takes up about 1/2TB of space. The secondary partition now has Windows 7 loaded and I was using it as a 'sandbox.' It also takes up about 1/2TB of space. I propose to reformat that partition since I don't need W7 anymore.
The second drive is 1/2TB (SSD also) and I use it for DATA only. Any program that lets me choose my own path to data uses that drive. IMPORTANT: Any programs I've downloaded have their execution file stored in this drive. All I have to do is update any old installations of programs I want to keep. This drive also holds all the latest driver software - so I'm all set there. The clean install will force me to get rid of programs I will never use again.'
The issue I dread is copying over to the new clean install all my settings which are imbedded in the programs. I envision a lot of rebooting - going back and forth between my corrupt W10 installation and my clean install. Is there a better way?
With the above information, how should I go about performing a clean install of W10?
You mentioned the BIOS and a one time boot option - I can't find that post. Could you resend it to me? I didn't understand most of it and had questions.
You guys have been very kind to me and I certainly appreciate it. So now that you (hopefully) know my drives better, where do I go from here?
