    Upgrade to build 10074 fails

    When I try to upgrade to build 10074 I get a failure message that reads
    • fbl_impressive Professional 10074 - Error 0xc1900107. I have tried Google and Bing but can't find a fix.
    Help!

    To tell you the truth builds 10061 and 10074 all suck,instead of getting better win 10 TP is getting worse , if this is gonna be this way from here on i will switch back to win 7 and forget about this win 10 tp peace of crap,not even Linux beta tests are so lousy
    not even close for a long shot,

    When upgrades fail, do a clean install. The latest build... 10074 is actually pretty darn good. Don't give up

    Hi there

    I believe there are some Pre-reqs that need to be installed first -- not sure which. I had these problems but then after trying update again I had some updates including Windows defender updates and then the 10061 / 10074 updates worked just fine. Problems though AFTER install - such as menu not working etc so it is probably better to do a Clean install anyway.

    Cheers

    Nothing was helping, even going back to 10041 only after clean installation. So for this moment back to 10041.

    Clean install wont solve all issue,maybe some, i did clean install of 10074 and did the suggested work around and still don't see nothing updating

    it seems no updates are being installed cause of this; if i click to install pc wont work freezes,i uninstall these drivers but they show at the updates,and nothing else will show on the update see pic;

    Also after i do this workaround settings;

    Go to run and type gpedit.msc
    click on Computer Configuration
    click on Administrative templates
    click on System
    click on Device Installation
    click on Device Installation Restrictions
    Enabled Prevent Installation of Devices not described by other policy settings
    Uninstalled driver ticked delete driver.
    Also go to Uninstall program to remove Synaptic software.
    Reboot
    Disable or Unconfigure Device Installation Restrictions
    And install Synaptics driver ver 16.2

    i get this;see pic;

    Spamming the same message to multiple threads is not the way to get people to help you, Silv.

    This build installed for me after several hours & I eventually managed to activate 10074, but then on the subsequent boot, the system hung with a black screen, then eventually reached the desktop with no keyboard or mouse recognition.

    Quite honestly, there are so many bugs in this version of Windows, it makes you wonder if Microsoft have actually learnt anything from their development of Windows over the years!!
