Choose USB HDD. If that doesn't work, try USB FDD?

If choosing USB-HDD won't work, see your post Should I Be Concerned and Extra Cautious - Page 12 - Windows 10 Forums and try that, just don't worry about changing the bios settings. They have worked well for you so far. Just try the last 2 steps.

You have your Wife's Laptop right? You can post while it is installing and ask any questions that come up. One I know you will be asked is do you want to download updates. The Microsoft servers are so busy today from people trying to do the same thing you are doing, so select no. It is a gamble, but let's try it that way.

Did you mean #111 or #112

I'm unclear on which "2 steps."

Your post #113 has the instructions to boot from USB.

    7. Choose HDD+ on the Boot Screen, don’t choose other USB options.

    8. Now choose your USB Device on the next screen and press ENTER.

    Thanks for the clarification.

Remember I have not changed my boot order in the BIOS

Doesn't this just take me to the HDD that boots Win 7?

Turn on the computer and start tapping F12 - tap tap tap tap tap until the boot selection menu comes up.
    Select +Hard Drive
In the next screen select your USB device, then enter.
