Make sure you are downloading the same version you have now.
Windows 7 Home Premium =Windows 10 Home
Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate = Windows 10 Professional

I see I missed a few of your posts last night. My apologies for not replying!
I just managed to boot in safe mode, so hardware is not an issue.
I no longer have the ISO file I downloaded. It was destroyed when I tried to do a Macrium backup to the HDD that held it.
I shut down from Safe Mode, and sure enough the system boots just like it always did.
What are my options now?
Somehow I managed to fail to post this, so I will. Then I will pick up the thread
thanks

That is fine. Did you see my post before? please try to keep up with us. We won't make it in time if we have to wait 30 minutes for you to respond to a post. I hope you understand. We are racing the clock right now.
I do!
Anticipating a successful download, how do we proceed from here.
I am here until day's end. I had some tasks I could not avoid.
thanks

No problem, I understand. Sometimes real life gets in the way of these computers.
Once the download is complete, you will need to know your Windows 7 activation Key number. It should be on a sticker on your computer or on the box it came in.
Great. Do you have any other software you will need to install that requires a license key? You will need those key numbers as well. Those we could always get from your other SSD with Windows 7 on it, but it is nice to have it in front of you.
Once we have all of that, make sure the 1 SSD is the only hard drive connected. We will boot into the USB key that the media creation tool is creating and start.
Sorry, I don't recall. I don't think so. I can't access my data drive right now. I was trying to set it up so I could use my BlackX to run it on my wife's machine. I don't have the right kind of USB cable. Another time...
I'm more than halfway through Media Creation. Once it is done, how with this be different? Do I need to have anything else at hand?
