I have 4 blue panes on a black screen. I think the video said some steps might take a long time. I did not get asked the questions you said to anticipate. I was here posting.

It's the Windows 10 Icon! Yes, be patient.
In the very beginning, it will ask you if you want to get updates now (recommended). Tick the radio button that says NO. Otherwise, it will never complete and we will miss the deadline. I just went through this a few hours ago with a W7 VM. The servers are being hammered and you'll never get the updates, and the installer will just hang forever.
