Yes, the Windows partition should be 2

    @dkaplowitz
You landed on this thread with some questions. You didn't explain your issue and we didn't suggested any solutions.
We don't have the "big picture" and we don't know what you're doing so we can't be responsible if any thing goes wrong.
I suggest you open your own thread, explain your problem and let us propose a solution.

    Can't create an eFI partition

I don't have an eFI partition.
I can't boot into either Windows 10 or Windows 7
When I try to run "bcdedit /enum"
Booted from a Windows 10 USB in Windows Repair mode in an Administrator cmd window.
    I Get:
The boot configuration data store could not be opened.
The requested system device cannot be found.

When I try to boot into Windows 10 I get a BSOD 0xc000021a
When I try to boot into Windows 10 Safemode I get a BSOD 0xc000021a
I realize Windows 10 is currently booting into the Windows 10 partition.
I don't know how to fix the boot sector in the Windows 10 partition.
I thought maybe creating a new boot partition would fix the boot problem.
I tried creating an eFI partition with Diskpart.
Diskpart isn't seeing the unallocated partition.

Your samsung 860 evo looks like it is an mbr disk.

You will have dificulty trying to create an efi partition on there.

If you want to use efi boot, convert the disk to gpt partition style then use a partition manager to create an esp partition, then use bcdboot command to ensure the boot critical files are correct.

    Alternatively:

Partition 1 and 4 are logical. Some converters ( e.g. microsoft mbr2gpt) won't like that. So you could convert those two to primary partitions first using a 3rd party partition manager, then try mbr2gpt.

Do you know another way to fix the boot sector on Windows 10 instead of converting the drive to GPT?

If you want to use bios boot:

    boot win10/11 media.

    open cmd prompt and type:

    bootsect /nt60 all /mbr
    (then press enter)

    bcdboot windowspartitionletter:\windows /s activepartitionletter: /f all
    (then press enter)

You can try the above, it wont do any harm, but your description and error code suggests a different problem. Do you have any backup images/restore points ?

I did create the partition on the unallocated partition. Fat32.
    bootsect /nt60 all /mbr
Was successfully updated on all partitions

    bcdboot windowspartitionletter:\windows /s activepartitionletter: /f all
Failure when attempting to copy boot files.

I do have a backup with Macrium. I created it with the free version. In order to restore, I think I will have to purchase a current license. I do have a USB created with Macrium to boot from.

your macrium usb should work to restore the image. Why would you need to purchase a license ?

When I open Macrium within the USB the restore options I see are Redeploy.
When I select Redeploy it says I need to purchase a License.
When I open Macrium within Windows I can restore an image:

Have you figured out how to restore an image booted from a USB?

you dont need to use redeploy, just the regular restore should be fine.

Redeploy is the adjust to new hardware feature, not normally needed with win10/11 which can adjust itself very well.

plenty of macrium fans on here can tell you how to do it.
