    Desktop Icon Font Drop Shadows

    Win 10 Tech Demo.
I would like to have plain black text on my desktop icons.
I have un-ticked the appropriate box to remove the subject drop shadows, but it did not remove them.
I have checked the appropriate registry setting which is set to "0".

When I boot into Win 10, the icon font at first appears black but then the desktop "re-draws" and the drop shadows appear.

I have "Classic Shell" installed to give me the standard Windows 7 type Start Menu - could this be relevant?

    Any help appreciated.

    Hi neighbor,
Have you tried altering the visual effects? Go to System in Control panel, Advanced, Performance, Settings, Visual Effects, and try altering your settings in custom mode. (Thank goodness MS sought to keep this CP setting as it's always been, and used the cautionary "if it's not broken, don't fix it".
