Acer one netbook from Win 8 to ten

Im trying to help out an elderly friend and update his netbook from windows 8 to windows 10 however his netbook will not activate even though it is a factory install. I recently ran acer recovery manager and wiped everything back to new and it still will not activate. When I try to run the 10 installation its asking for a product key number!! so I guess im stuck!
ive done a few searches but haven't found a fix yet so figured id ask for help here!!
    Thanks

Start by running showkey plus from this forum. Click on the product keys it shows and they will blank out. Then post the result screen here and we can help:

You are more than likely attempting to install the wrong edition of Windows 10. You need the regular Windows 10. NOT Single Language, NOT "N" version, just plain old Windows 10. The installation media you are trying to install from should also be build 10586 - downloaded and created sometime after November, 2015. The correct edition of Windows 10 and build 10586 will not ask for a product key during either an in place upgrade or a clean install because it will read and use the Windows 8 Product Key.
