Should I upgrade to windows 10?

    Hi all,

I have myself a dell latitude D630 with windows 7 home premium that is genuine.

I am thinking about upgrading to windows 10, however, will my laptop slow down a lot from upgrading? If not, will it slow down over time? I heard windows 10 will get more demanding as time goes on, is this true?

Thanks all and I can't wait to see other thoughts since I can't make up my mind.

You should make an image of your Windows 7 and upgrade to Windows 10 so that you get the digital entitlement while it is free. Then if you don't like it, restore the windows 7 image.

Dell doesn't support the Windows 10 upgrade on the D630. That doesn't mean that the laptop is incompatible, but that you won't get any help from Dell with drivers.

I don't personally recommend going from 7 to 10. 10 is more of an upgrade over Win 8, in my opinion, if only because the integration of the desktop and the interface once known as Metro is poor in 8 (or 8.1).

If you choose to upgrade anyway (as Microsoft would prefer), you shouldn't see a slowdown in normal operation. I doubt that will change in the future.

If you go with the upgrade, be sure to have a means of imaging your current Win 7 installation. It's the most reliable way of going back if you decide to do so. (Everyone should have that capability anyway, for backup.)

    Thanks all

I will try to upgrade soon, but first, how do I make an image of my current system?
