    need clean install windows 10

This was a windows 7 upgraded to 10. The pc has had a number of issue since the upgrade. Some issues i have been able to fix but some not and others are developing or worsening. I have had a number of crashes from iqrl less than or not eaqual to nonresposive pages both programs and browser related as well as the typing lag jumping or canceled out curser in the middle of typing, not me bumping the touch pad cuz i use extermal keyboard and mouse, among other things happening in here. i have run sfc and it says theres no issues it finds. i have found a few of my registery keys were missing tried a program to fix that but the issues got worse. malwarebytes finds no malware just a bunch of "pups" that most of which i think may have come from trying to fix the registry errors with the program id picked up after i picked up image_health program with last weeks attempt at fixing the start menu that doesnt want to open. While working on that issue someone suggested a clean install but im not 100% sure how i would do that, i did not think to make a copy when i upgraded and with my upgrade it was activated electronic so i dont have a product key now either i may have the 7 key written down but not sure if i can find it. how, where would i find a clean copy to attempt to clean install to see if that would solve some of my issues, as the upgrade was sort of pushed on my system i had a lot of files that were carried over(pic, music, documents) would that have caused any issues that i am having here? This system is driving me crazy, things that worked 2 weeks ago dont and things are becoming slower to open or respond and load. Any suggestions muchly appreciated

    Hello,

A clean install would be a very good approach especially if you are already thinking about it.

As you have already activated W10 on your PC you now have a digital entitlement and so you do not need product keys. When you next install W10 you simply skip the entry of product keys because W10 will activate automatically when it is installed.

You can download a copy of W10 using the media creation tool and then you are good to go! Don't forget a clean install will wipe all your files and programs so you need to save anything that is important. There are plenty of tutorials on here that show you how to do all these things.

A clean install is what it took to sort out my PC, which was a WIN 7 upgrade.

I went one step further. I saved all my data and other stuff on an external drive. I exported Favourites out of IE 11 and other browsers to a file. I reformatted the hard drive and then did the clean install, including any updates that may have happened in the meantime. I then re-installed other sw that I wanted, including any special drivers for printers, one at a time with a restore point between each major install.

I then re-created any sites that I need one at a time as the need arises. I did NOT import into IE 11, Edge or any other browser my favourites.

    It worked for me.

RE : for some reason its telling me the dvd im writing to isnt the right type

I use DVD+R. They never fail.

RE : how do i find the exzact build numbers for what i started with on the windows 10 home

In the search box, type winver > Enter

RE : would it change if im doing a clean install like are there new builds since oct15

If you have the old version 10240, and you do a Clean install using the current ISO file from either Media Creation Tool (MCT) or Tech Bench, then you will be updated to 10586.

    What are they ?
Post a screenshot if you can.

I guess one of them is the Task View icon ?
If yes, right click at the taskbar > UN-check Show Task View button

im on a secondary pc at the moment while trying to get mine going again and ive never tried a screenshot before (dont know that trick yet) but the 2 that ive never been able to get unpinned are a shopping bag from hp and a laptop with an orange flower over it but has nothing in it when clicked on not sure but my cam icon might have been in it at one time. there are somethings that i just never touch tho and some are in the start up thought maybe killing them from the start up and having them start if i happen to open them would help in my boot and shut down times. also a problem i had just before the 10 upgrade.
