    Well in beta testing it is allowed to be overly pushing using a Microsoft account,
    I would hope this push to use or create one would be lowered and showing Local account the same as 8 does which a recent re-install of 8 reminded me of that fact the 8 install process is more balanced.

    Balance is less confusing for people coming from prior os's excluding 8 of course because allot of people purely rejected it.

    I don't think you need a hotmail account. I never had on and work with my AOL account.

    Hi there
    If you are a PRO obviously you need the correct tools for the job. All I was saying is that there are some very good free / opensource products out there that can do an excellent job if you don't need the full Pro features.

    As for servers I was alluding more to things like commercial server farms rather than web sites running IIS or equivalent. Most ISP's for example run Linux.

    I have had sites and I don't remember which that I could not register in because I didn't have and would not do hotmail. I have 3 accounts with my server that I route through my PC. Have been there, done that with online emails.

    It's not necessarily that easy. I can't sign up for an account because I refuse to enable all my cookies like M$ insists I do (I believe I've already mentioned this earlier).

    Yes Lady.. you have but it needs to be reiterated when it applies,
    Not to mention Personal preferences must be recognized by members and Microsoft as different stokes for different folks

    And, as I've also mentioned, it's pretty easy to enable them to register, then disable them after you are registered. You only need the full cookies for registration. You can delete them after that.

    Uhh ... Saying Computers running Windows is different from saying Windows Hardware.
    I'll accept it as shorthand, but I'll never use the phrase

    Windows Hardware -> Surface RT, Windows Phone

    IBM Servers -> hardware
    HP Servers -> hardware

    Yes I know that.
    Thanks for posting the information - other members might not have been aware.
    It 's one of the advantages of being old and retired (I'm semi-retied). You don't worry about those things much - my children and grandchildren can worry about the quality of graphics editors. They have all the top notch photography equipment and they usually work in RAW.

    PhotoImpact Pro (another favorite)
    Corel Painter
    Three Corel pkgs - isn't there also a Corel Draw Essentials (maybe that's Painter now). I often thought about trying it, but that kept getting put on the back burner.

    Thanks for the list I also used Paintshop Pro (PSP) 4 & 5 and it was my favorite. I lost the disc and the key during a move and crash (two separate events). Those were old version anyway, not worth the trouble to try and find the key in a backup.

    I settled on Gimp until I decide to put out cash for a new version of PSP. I'll probably just take the original image to one of the children and say - do your magic.

    On the topic of the thread I also can't say the install for a local account got any easier for someone to find,
    With the second install options page no scroll bar is shown and the option is out of sight

    Windows 8 has a more clear install for a local account than 10 and that is just wrong and hopefully that process will be more obvious in the final release,
    Cheers.
    Is this the January release Mike?

    Yes it is,
    The scroll bar does not appear unless you happen to move the mouse over it,
    Of course the back... is below it so that doesn't make it appear either,
    Hiding it to somewhat force making a Microsoft account because that is all that's on the list your information to make a new Microsoft account
    It's really petty.
    I did mention I got a popup after installing Why I didn't make a Microsoft account
    Left feedback
