Questions about W10 upgrade page
I can't move from 10240 to the next build via WU regardless of what I do (have done many things to try an make it work via windows update, all to no avail) I've reached the point of trying the Windows 10 site https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/soft...load/windows10 to upgrade to TH2 1511.
I had an iso downloaded, tried right clicking, mounted the iso, after the upgrade things were not right. Mostly with the display, the existing resolution 1600x900 wasn't even available, there were only 3 choices for resolution none of which were above 1024 range. Updated drivers didn't change it, used the USB to repair/reimage to get back to a useable W10 system.
Created a new USB with a new re-downloaded iso, tried booting from the USB and there were no choices to "upgrade" my existing W10 installation, just install W10 with a choice of Home or Pro, I chose Home, then it asked for a product key. I didn't go any farther because I wasn't sure what it was doing, this should be an upgrade of my existing W10 Home install, not an initial installation. If it's possible I would like to keep everything as it is today, desktop, hardware settings, bookmarks, files, etc...
I want to try again using a different method, when I go to the Get Windows 10 page from the link above there's a button marked "upgrade" will clicking this upgrade my existing W10 to the new 1511 version? I could download the MCT, but if I have a bootable USB iso, do I need the MCT to upgrade much like would happen with windows update?
Thank you for any replies
