9879 Enterprise ISO do I have to download TWO versions ??

    Hi there

The DIRECT links seem to have gone now --you have to Register - and then it says do you want Inplace upgrade or install NEW.

I want to try BOTH methods (on a VM of course from various OS's - W7 / W8 / W8.1). If I download the Install NEW can it also do an Upgrade or do I have to go through the wretched Registration and download TWO different ISO's -- Bad one Ms who ever thought of that idea !!!!!!.

    Cheers

Jimbo, as always with Windows you can of course do the in-place upgrade with full retail version. This applies to Build 9879 ISO images too, Pro and Enterprise. Same procedure: boot with install media for clean install, launch installer from desktop of old Windows for in-place upgrade.

    Hi there

Thanks - I was confused about the prompt for which ISO to download -- I'll grab the "Full Install" one.

In addition, if you select the in-place upgrade the ISO is not the 9879 but instead the first released build, 9841:

Whereas if you select the clean install you get the latest released build, at the moment 9879.
