I have a PC here (not mine) that has win7 32 bits, 4gb ram and pentuim e5200 (45 nm) that has the disable bit enabled in bios and the latest update kbxx2664 istana but still have the "CPU not supported" message when clicking the windows upgrade icon in the tray.
Any idea what is happening? Should I try to install with the media creation tool?
Ran Windows 8.1 Upgrade assistants, it says NX not supported.

According to your Intel E5200 CPU Specifications, the NX bit IS supported, but not the Trusted Execution Technology. However, I don't think the latter is a requirement to install Windows 10. Forget about Windows Update, just download the official Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft Tech Bench and use it to upgrade. The full version is "Windows 10" and can upgrade to Home or Pro depending on previous Windows version. Others are restricted and can upgrade only the respective restricted Windows 7 or 8 versions.
English language warning: "English" is English US, while "English International" is English GB. Be careful to download the right language, or you won't be able to upgrade!
After you download the ISO, mount it on a virtual drive (in Windows 8 right-click and select Open with Windows Explorer), or burn to DVD to run setup. Just in case, right-click on setup and Run as Administrator.
PS: Make sure NX is enabled in BIOS. Some BIOS have default to disabled.
The Pentium E5200 is supposed to support all of the necessary instructions, including the more obscure ones like CMPXCHG16b.

I'd advise against upgrading a PC that old to 7, except I've already done that to a laptop from 2008 with an AMD QL 60 CPU and an nVidia motherboard chipset, no less. Hasn't rejuvenated it, but it runs no slower than it did under Win 7. (It was originally sold with Vista.)
I have also upgraded a couple of Vista PCs to 10 without issues. One of them is using Vista only drivers because it is very old, but it works! Go ahead!
Ok just ran the installer from the USB key made with the media creation tool.
STILL SAYS NX ISN'T SUPPORTED!! That's annoying. Can't perform the upgrade from Windows 7. So, can I do the upgrade by booting from the USB key?
