Cannot update to windows 10

Hello everyone,
i have tried to upgrade my windows 7 to windows 10 but i cannot perform the action due a problem.

It says : "Windows cannot check for updates...."

If anyone has any idea of how to fix please help.

I don't get a message, but my update seems frozen while downloading at 1%.

Ideas?

Use the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool to do the upgrade:

You want the blue box near the bottom of the page that says "Download Tool Now"

Thanks! That did the trick. It took a long time, but everything seems to be running smoothly at this time.

This is what I did. The last time I tried the upgrade solely over the web it crashed both the upgrade and the original 8.1 load. I had to buy a new system image thumb drive from HP to keep the PC from becoming an expensive doorstop.
