Win 10 Enterprise - 1511 Update still not available???

    Hi everyone,

I was looking forward to updating my win 10 enterprise edition to the new 1511 update, but so far I've been trying for several days, but nothing has shown as yet. I have tried some of the fixes mentioned in GHACKS ARTICLE, but I've had no luck at all. For your information, I've had windows installed well over the 31 day period that microsoft mentioned, so this also can't be the issue.

    Can anyone help please?

    Hi,

From what I've read so far it should become available for download today:

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com...in10itprosetup

In fact I've just finished downloading it from an "alternative" site and will be giving it a shot later tonight.

    Cheers,

    Thanks Fdegrove,

If I downloaded the iso and installed it, then won't I lose all my stuff? I simply want to upgrade and not reinstall a fresh copy.

    Hi,

Make sure you have a full backup of your current system to be on the safe side.
Then burn the ISO filo onto a USB stick and run setup from within Windows. Opt for the "Upgrade" install and hopefully that will preserve all your programs and personal files.
At least that's how it worked on a W10 pro install I just updated yesterday.

    Cheers,

    Thanks buddy.

Only issue is that I can't download the msdn link as it's only for subscribers. Damn!

Why are you using enterprise? If you have an enterprise agreement, the ISO should be readily available to you.

I bought this computer from a business that's closed down and already had it installed.

    Hello mate,

I ran the DXDIAG tool and it's showing this version:-

    Windows 10 Enterprise 64-Bit (10.0, Build 10240)

    Hi,

OK, so a regular Enterprise version.
You could google for that, there's a site which hosts an iso file that you can download containing the 1511/10586 version.

No idea about activation but I think it should retain activation status if you do an upgrade install.
Anyway, it's worth a try if you take all necessary precautions.

    Best regards,
