I would think you would be able to use the Win Next Starter Retail key to activate Windows 10 Home.

Although maybe not. This key is appearing in quite a few Google results:
    D6RD9-D4N8T-RT9QX-YW6YT-FCWWJ

I think alphanumeric might be right - might be time to purchase the cheapest, legitimate Windows 7 OEM version you can find.

If your installed key is NPPR9-FWDCX-D2C8J-H872K-2YT43, that is a Windows 10 Enterprise KMS Client Setup Key. Which I believe is default key used to install it but won't activate. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/.../jj612867.aspx
If the other key is D6RD9-D4N8T-RT9QX-YW6YT-FCWWJ that looks to be a Windows 8.1 Starter key and one that's listed on sites dealing with pirating Windows. That may be a blacklisted key.

Yeah, there is no embedded key and no Windows 7 OEM marker in the BIOS. That means no SLIC table. Which means it was built with standard components and didn't come with an OEM Windows install. That's likely why it doesn't have a COA sticker. It never had a factory OEM install on it. Not much to do at this point but to buy a license for Windows.

EDIT: One has to wonder where the Win 7 Starter came from and why it was installed?

Is this PC currently activated? I'm no IT expert, but I'm thinking it shouldn't be? Not if the key is what I think it is as I posted above. If it is it may be hacked already with a cheated activation. I wouldn't be doing any online banking etc on it if I were you.

IMHO It's cheated/pirated then. As far as I know these https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/.../jj612867.aspx keys are for setup only and will not activate? If they did they wouldn't be listed like they are as everybody would use them to get Windows for free. Somebody else in the know can confirm it, but that's the way I understand it. I guess it could be pointed to an illegal KMS host? Like I said though, this is out of my expertise area.

    Thanks alpha,

I'll be honest and say that I really don't have a clue what to do.

From an elevated command prompt ("run as administrator" command prompt) type: slmgr /dlv

Post the results here, please. That will tell us how activation was achieved.
