Tiles not working after 9879 update

All installed software works & using the Start8 Menu, I can access all the usual Window locations, but none of the tiles (with the exception of Internet Explorer) work; with some there's an error message to basically say the the file isn't at the location.

All coloured applications work but those that are greyed out don't (attached image modified in Photoshop to highlight working/non working tiles.

    Any ideas appreciated.

Is it possible to do a repair, reinstall over the existing build or will it require a re-build.

Try uninstalling Start8 first and reboot to see if it makes a difference.

Can confirm that Start8 does not affect the functionality of tiles; App Tiles are not functioning with or without the Start8 Menu.

Luckily, Explorer from the Taskbar allowed Start8 to be re-installed to access my installed software otherwise my current Windows 10T would be pretty ineffective!

Why have Start8 in Windows 10 which has a perfectly good Start menu that is fully Customizable?

    Just askin. :)

Mostly because Start8 doesn't have Bing search in it
    I believe there's a new version posted here ?

It's NOT fully customizable because the Start Menu Icon size cannot be made smaller as per Windows 7

The icon size on the Start Menu is much larger than on the Apps Menu; if you like to be able to start all Applications by just pressing the 'Start Button', then you soon run out of space with the Windows 10 minimum size.

As can seen with the Start8 Menu, the size can be reduced to that which equates with the minimum size available in Windows 7.

Whilst I appreciate that it may not be important to you, it would be nice if Microsoft, having reinstated the traditional Start Menu, retained the ability to be able to choose between both large & small icons.

After my problems with the 9879 update, I downloaded the latest ISO build & decided to pop the installation CD into the drive to see if there was any quick fix but alas no, refresh (keeping installed applications) failed although there was option to rebuild Windows (loose all installed applications); probably much the same as a re installation.

Well, I'm back up & running Windows 10T build 9879 & all tiles are functional (as you might expect).

Don't know what the real cause of the previous update was, but maybe that's to be expected from a pre-release build.

Should also mention that Start8 has been installed & works with all tiles, so it wasn't that which caused the problem.
