I'm still using th1 10240 Core, that i received as an insider before W10 official release. Am I right to still be using this version. I get messages saying upgrade to Windows 10 when I select upgrade in told this machine is already running a version of W10. I have a diskmade using the media creation tool X64 Bit. I have macrum Reflex installed. I was on the insider programe since October 2014, I still have insider hub with all completed Quests & feedback what should my next move be.

Officially you cannot upgrade from a beta version to the RTM. There is a trick to do it. Extract the Windows 10 setup files to a folder and then open the file cversion.ini inside the sources folder with Notepad. Change both numbers to your build, that is 10240 and save. Then run Setup which would allow you to upgrade from Insider build to Windows 10 RTM build 10240. Some folks are going to say that this is contrary to EULA and that you will have activation issues. The legal way, according to Microsoft, is to upgrade from Windows 7 or 8.1 to 10. But using this trick I have managed to upgrade my test PC from Insider Preview (don't remember build) to Windows 10 RTM build 10240 (and save a great deal of trouble to reinstall everything). If you don't have any important data and many applications installed, you could also do a clean-install.

If you have too many data to worth the trouble, upgrade it with this trick and then you can get the activation token if you install an earlier version of Windows on a spare disk or a second partition and follow this tutorial, if you want to do it according to EULA.

If you are still in the Insider program, upgrade to build 10586 which is going to be the th2 (threshold 2) release on Nov 10.
