Download installation files deleted after downloading ISO

    My guess is the ISO download uses those same hidden folder(s). They are used as temporary storage of the files until the ISO is created. Then they likely get deleted as a cleanup after function. Wait long enough, and you may get your files downloaded again in the background by the GWX App in the notifications area.

    Not every ISO. I'm referring to the ISO you download from Microsoft Tech Bench site. This can install straight from 7 or 8. The ISO you create from Get Windows 10 utility cannot.

    Sort of correct. Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8.1 is required in order for the Get Windows 10 utility to show up via Windows Update. However, if someone makes the ISO from it, it will upgrade Windows 7 RTM or Windows 8.0.
