I don't know why it didn't work on your other Win computer, but, I always use my MR from my boot disk. I would think you would want to create at least one "Rescue Media" disk anyhow?? If someday, you couldn't access your C-drive, your only choice would be the rescue media disk, to fix or to restore a previous disk image. MR gives you 2 ways to make this disk, DVD or USB whichever choice is best for you. I have to make both, as 1 of my computers will not boot from any USB port, while my newer computer does both, with no problem.
Just my opinion on this......didn't mean to butt in.....:)
I have already created rescue CD but I want to know why this error came on one PC and not on another.
If a disk you are working on currently running Windows then no software would allow you to do it, this includes Macrium, Mini Tool, AOMEI Partition Assistant, EASUS etc.... You must do it offline. When you boot up your PC using Recovery disk or Macrium Rescue disk, the PE environment loaded into RAM and run from there so all HD/SSD are available for you to modify the disk layout. In the first case, you did restore to another disk then that's perfectly OK since that disk was not running Windows.
Oh my God, I missed your post and yes I forgot that earlier I had restored to another disk. But you are marvellous, you noticed that.
I built a WIN 10 (home version) desktop a few months back with a single SSD as its C Drive. It all works fine. Today I went to clone that drive using Samsung Data Migration.
Disk Management shows that my originating SSD has both a healthy,...
Had 8.1 then downloaded 10, unfortunately when I originally installed 8.1 I made my C partition too small and it's almost full all the time.
Is there anyway to increase the size?
Also I want to reset my PC right now since it's gotten extremely...
I have an SSD with WIN7 installed. It has no System Reserved Partition (SRP) and thus no boot files on that nonexistent partition.
I've read here that individuals with a SRP of only 100mb have had issues installing WIN 10 and that those issues...
How do I create a system reserved partition on my SSD C: drive. I have 3 other drives installed and all have reserved system partitions.
Any help would be appreciated
