    Help with Windows 10

    Hi

We have a windows 7 home premium , with Samsung RF10 laptop .
Every time we try to upgrade to windows 10 it gets so far then hangs .
We get as far as a dark blue screen with a pale blue windows icon , left it for to see if anything would happen as it didn't appear to doing anything , after 2 hours nothing .
When the upgrade was starting it said problem with Samsung recovery 5 then uninstalled it
We then tuned the laptop off and when it came back on it was back on windows 7 with a message box see below.

    0xc1900101-0x20017
This installation in SAFE_OS phase with an error during BOOT operation

Can anyone help with this please , we will be very grateful .

    Thanks

This could very well be a common problem with Samsung laptop that uses a Broadcom wifi card. Check the device manager and see if it is using a Broadcom wifi card. If yes, go to the BIOS and see if there is option to disable the wifi card. If yes, disable it and update Win10 again. If no, you have to physically remove the wifi card from the laptop. My Samsung RC510 has similar problem and I have to replace the wifi card to an Atheros wif card. Check this thread for your reference: Samsung RC510 - Got stuck at windows logo when trying to boot into USB - Windows 10 Forums

On the other hand, if your laptop is not using Broadcom wifi card then the problem is related to another thing which I have no idea.

Thanks for your reply , we done what you suggested and no joy ,just hope we don't have to change the wifi card .
If you are not going to use Bluetooth do we need to bother with changing the wifi card , we did disable it .
    Thanks again

Is the problem fixed or not? I guess the answer is no since you said no joy. Am I right? In that case, removing the wifi card may be the only way to fix the problem at this moment until either Samsung or Microsoft or both have fixed the problem. After you have removed the wifi card, you can either replace it with an Atheros wifi card or leave it empty and use an USB wifi dongle.
