    What have I installed?

Having some malware messing up my Technical Preview, (see my thread, Something nasty in my tech preview.), I went on to the Microsoft site and downloaded an iso of W10pro64 and put it on a dvd. I used another hdd and did a clean install and skipped the product keys and it activated automatically. There is no tp warermark showing so I don't know what I've got. The product id is 00330-80000-00000-AA962.

Ok, I have W10 pro build 10240, how has it activated as it's not an upgrade? I thought I was getting a replacement preview.

I suppose you must have upgraded to Windows 10 from an activated Windows 7/8.1 at some point on the PC having the Windows 10 activation registered on Microsoft activation servers.

You can use the method in the tutorial below to start getting Insider builds again though. :)

I have three upgrade editions of W10 and the TP. I suppose this one is illegal by accident. I don't want a fourth W10 and will remove it and replace it with a copy of TP.

I have already opted for fast track insider builds with this copy of W10, will it turn into a TP when it updates?

Possibly, Microsoft are confused by my having two versions of W10 on the same pc, I use hardware switching for two 10's and one 7 on the same motherboard. The other 10 is an upgrade from 8.1.

If you were an insider before build 10240 RTM was released, Microsoft gave you a free permanent Windows 10 activation for that computer. It's a free, legitimate and legal gift from Microsoft.

As long as you are using a genuine Windows 10 ISO downloaded from Microsoft, and you skip entering any product keys for it, and you do nothing to interfere with the normal activation process from Microsoft activation servers, any resulting activation of that Windows 10 is 100% legit and legal

Yes, you'll have an activated Insider preview build when it updates.
