Yeah, even with catalyst control center removed it's still crashing. I'm really dumbfounded at what I can do at this point.

Oh my goodness! This is a stubborn system, eh?

Okay, let's do this: Grab Ccleaner (Free version), install it, and save to text file a copy of your installed programs. Post the file here, and we'll have a look to see if there is anything that appears to be blocking the install, just to rule that out.

Select TOOLS on the left, and you'll see a link at the bottom right to save to text file.

Looks pretty clean to me, except for that AMD Catalyst Install mgr. and of course, Speccy.

You could try uninstalling that (through Ccleaner), and try the upgrade once more.

-- You are upgrading using an ISO from the media creation tool right? Want to try downloading an ISO from MS TechBench?

Failing that, probably the best thing to do is back up all your data, wipe the drive, clean install your W7 OS, and upgrade from that. Do you have your W7 install media to accomplish that?

I'm wondering why all those foreign .NET Frameworks are doing on there. You are using U.S. English version, yes? I see you're showing an American flag.

You think it's a language pack issue @HippsieGypsie?

Not to worry about the files; the vast majority of them are on the other hard drive which i currently have detatched, making them effectively backed up, and what files I do have on here I put on google drive.
I'm going to do it when I go to bed again this time, so for now, I can only cross my fingers. I got rid of speccy and the catalyst install manager.
Is there some way to set it up to have fast reboot disabled by default when I install it? Now that I have that ISO folder? That just might fix the problem, if I can do that.
And yes, I still have the installation disc around here somewhere. I'm sure I can get it if I need it.

Okay, everything is backed up - good.
Hippsie is wondering why you have all those different language .NETs installed? Perhaps you should uninstall them as well. That could be hanging things. Just leave the US English on.

No, Fast Startup is enabled by default. You have to get the OS installed before you can change that.

Good - we may need it....

Yes. Unless you installed a language pack, Axington, they shouldn't be on there. Probably wise to uninstall all but the US English as simrick stated.

    Again, good luck.
