    I would like to upgrade
But before I need to answer some questions
    1) How many free space do I need on my system disk ? About 30G. It will create a Windows.old folder with Win 10. You can delete afterwords and recover the +- 30G.
    2) Why I am not able to do it from the Windows Update function ? Don't know. You can try an in place upgrade.
    3) Do I have to buy a licence for Windows 11 Pro and is it free . No. The Win 11 use same Win 10 license

It seems I could have some problems with my partitions on disk C: and I don't want to t ake risk when upgrading
I would of course take a copy of my Windows 10 before proceeding ! How?
Playing with partitions is a risky task so I suggest you create a Drive image on an external drive (if you have one) using Macrium or Aomei.

You didn't inserted your computer specs under My Computer and don't read and answer my posts.
I'll live you with Pentagon that has fast hands and solutions.

You also didn't answer the question if you know how to boot a USB-Stick and navigate to Command Prompt
If that is not clear, don't start!
Run a test before you say yes!

    To start the upgrade:
    Under Win 10
    - Download the USB Win 11 23h2 iso file using MCT
    - Disconnect from the internet.
    - Right click on the iso file and select mount.
    - On the virtual drive created run setup.exe. It will begin to upgrade to Win 11.

    What would I need ?
I have some "empty" 128 Gb stick - Is it large enough ?
Then, what should I do ?

Prepare the Boot Stick 8 GB is enough
Download the USB Win 11 23h2 iso file using MCT like Megahertz suggested in #33.
Prepare the USB and boot from it.
In Setup click next only one time
at the left bottom you see the repair option. click that
when you see comand prompt X:> it's ok and click exit 2x

It should be in your own interest that you can manage that even when you are sleeping!

    Next step:
prepare a test file. Run Notepad and type s.th. and save it as test.txt. to your C-Partition or on your USB.
You must be able to find the file when you are in the USB-Modus using notepad

Do you have a 2nd Computer for the case that you have a question during the process?

    Too complicated.

You don't use the MCT to download an iso. The MCT, if used, downloads installation files and builds an iso from them.

There is no need for that. If you use the MCT, either upgrade immediately or have the stick created right away. You will not be able to create the stick from the iso easily.

If you'd rather upgrade from the iso, just download it directly.

    @Volume Z

    I know, I know!

The target is that sfleury has to learn how to use an USB for troubleshooting!

    You know what I mean?

That's different from what Megahertz suggests and requires no iso file created or downloaded. For that matter, upgrading requires no iso file created either.

    @sfleury

We are not in a hurry! Take the time you need to boot an USB.
    That is important

    Edit
We can make a preparation for the further steps:

    diskpart
    sel disk 0
    sel par 1
    set id=de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac
    gpt attributes=0x0000000000000000
    format quick fs=fat32 label="System"
    assign letter=S
    exit

If these steps work it's much easier later
