So you did a clean install not to a unallocated space but on a configured partition.

Check if you have WinRE.wim on C:\Windows\System32\Recovery

However I do not understand how this happy circumstance has been achieved.
Now I am getting your question.

The installation succeeded because you do not have a recovery partition. With Windows RE enabled, KB5034441 can only fail for lack of free space.

With no separate partition, Windows RE is enabled on the Windows partition which has enough space available.

With Windows RE enabled, you won't find Winre.wim in C:\Windows\System32\Recovery as that is the disabled location. You'll find it in C:\Recovery\WindowsRE.
