    Hi Del 80,

This has already been reported three times:

    KB5001716 & update issues

Issue with KB5001716 update on March 5 2024

    and now,

KB5001716 Update for Windows 10 Update Service components

Still no solution as of yet.

    Kind regards,

Sure not. This should be getting MS's attention by now. See the article that Brink linked, Microsoft quietly installing KB5001716 so you can update to Windows 11 or newer Windows 10 - Neowin

Note the comments made at the end of the article.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Del 80,

Yeah, apparently there are two versions, one old and one new. The new one installs, but I don't know how to get rid of the old one popping up. I guess we can hide the old version for now.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Del 80,

I am not sure if that means an update to Windows 11, but is sounds so according to the article, "Those on older Windows 10 versions will be offered newer Windows 10 while those on the newest version, 22H2, are likely going to be offered Windows 11." I am on Windows 10 22H2 and am still getting the offer to upgrade on my machine.

    Kind regards,

I'm working on a client's Notebook that originally had Win8, see the same issue. Checking the Microsoft Update Catalog does not list that KB5001716.
