Update KB5034441 Windows Recovery Environment update for Windows 10

    hi,

Just ran windows update and my computers still are stuck with KB5034441 - KB5034441: Windows Recovery Environment update for Windows 10, version 21H2 and 22H2: January 9, 2024

Didn't they sort out a way to figure this out yet? 2nd of March 2024 today. I know it's not a mega issue as it requires physical access to the SSD, but would be nice to have it patched properly.

I don't want to mess up with the recovery environment, also because i read of people increasing its size and.... it still failed!

    thank you,
    Gabrio

You have to increase the size of the Recovery Partition (250 Mb) to 1GB
as it appears around 750Mb was the default size

I wouldn't expect an early hot fix. MS is telling users to ignore it, they're working on it.

If you have Mini tool partition or Aomei partition it is very easy to increase the recovery partition.

Please post a whole window Disk Manager image of ALL your drives. Don't forget to expand the columns so we can read them. How to Post a Screenshot of Disk Management
If you have a MiniTool or AOMEI Partition use it instead or Windows disk manager.

In some rarer cases, Using a 3rd party disk tool still didn't solve the issue. There's even a couple of examples on this site where only the manual method was successful.
The link below describes the procedure, and at the very bottom of the page are links to an automated PS script that will do it for you. I signed into discord and it is there for the download.

By trial and error I have found that the absolute minimum recovery partition size required for a successfully install of KB5034441 is 680MB.

MS have got themselves in a real mess. I recently tested a clean install of Windows 10.
The recovery partition it created was too small for KB5034441 to install
