KB5034441 Security Update for Windows 10 (21H2 and 22H2) - Jan. 9

Has anybody tried

reagentc /disable
then mount winre.wim
use dism to install the cab

unmount commit
reagentc /enable

could optimize/export the wim to make it a bit smaller if desired

the updated winre.wim might not be much bigger than the original. If it is too big, then use a 3rd party tool to expand the recov partition before reagentc /enable.

It seems quite sensible to have a big recov partition anyway, about 1gb perhaps to avoid faffling in future.

Just resized WinRE and installed failed update using EaseUS took seconds Microsoft instruction are so long winded not so easy for the average computer user hope this helps

I contacted minitool, the bug will be reported to the development team.

Any alternatives to EaseUS? I don't wanna pay for a single use.

As you do not have drive C encrypted, there is no need to abandon or even resize the partition. Disable Windows RE and convert partition 1 to basic as advised by Pentagon. Then enable Windows RE right away and install KB5034441. Convert the partition back to recovery and disable/enable Windows RE again, thus moving recovery environment back to partition 1. This translates into

reagentc /disable

Run Windows Update

YES, You are right! It's disk 3. My weak eyes.

I know that your method works, but if you consider his big C-Partition there is enough space.
Usually you don't see when a winre-update is not successful on a small partition. Only the KB 503441 gives the error message and is the exeption!
