Has anyone used minitool to extend their windows 10 WinRE seems a lot easier than following Microsoft instructions
minitool 12.8 has a bug, when you shrink or other the c partition: the recovery partition will become raw.
Use and recommend easeus.
I used NIUBI Partition Editor: Best Free Partition Manager Software for Windows 11/10/8/7.
It was effortless.
Kind regards,
tecknot
Just resized WinRE to 900Mbs using Easeus, windows update KB5034441 installed first time after several failed attempts over the last couple of months took seconds to do so thanks for the heads up.
It was precisely easeus partition master free. There is a portable version of this software.
There is also a portable version of minitool partition wizard. I will contact minitool to report the bug in version 12.8. I saw on the internet 5 to 8 years ago that minitool had already corrected a version which gave raw partitions!
Version 9.1 works well, haven't tried it myself, but it's old, could bug at any time... Overall, a system backup is ideal.
Just looked at winre.wim build .3920 from win10 latest iso
It already includes kb5034232

It is not all that massive

I tried the official MS fix for 4441 yesterday. They must be missing a step or 2 because following the instructions exactly got me big heap doodoo....ie., it didn't proceed to do anything.
