    Please post commands with results:

    Code:
    diskpart
    lis dis
    sel dis 0
    det dis
    sel par 1
    det par
    sel par 2
    det par
    sel par 3
    det par
    sel par 4
    det par
    sel par 5
    det par
    sel par 6
    det par
    exit

If clean was performed instead of clean all one or more recovery software can be tried.

Yes, it was just clean, not clean all.

I recovered the partition with test disk (linux version). Here is the data requested.

    You didn't answer the question if it's a Z-840!
That doesn't matter because beside the EFI-Partition everything is lost!

    Yes, it is a Z840.

Unfortunate if everything is lost. I will clone the original hard drive back onto the SSD.

But how do people make Windows 10 dual boot with Linux? Is there a guide?

On YouTube you find hundreds of videos.
Make sure that you have a second EFI-Partition

I cloned the hard drive with Unix "dd". I tried booting in secure mode, then in legacy mode.

This is after adding windows to the grub (Unix) menu.

Seemingly back where I started. At least I had the backup.

My last contribution in this case:
    1. I had to ask several times to get an answer to my question about the model and the CPU.
    2. You didn't mention that you run a NVMe on a PCI-Adapter. Depending on the BIOS it can be problematic.
    3. You tried to run in Legacy Mode! This shows your knowledge.
    4. I suggested to create a 2nd EFI Partition
    diskpart
    sel disk 0
    sel par 5
    shrink minimum=200
    create partition EFI
    format quick fs=fat32 label="System"
    assign letter=S
    exit
    bcdboot C:\windows /l en-GB /s S: /f UEFI
    exit

    5. At Start press <F9> to select GRUB or WINDOWS
    6. You have seen how easy it is to ruin a 4 TB disk. An OS on a 4 TB disk is the first step into a ruin.
    7. Your Workstation has 6 SATA Ports and a simple SSD would be the best solution.
7.1 With an OS on a small SATA SSD you can even upgrade your TPM to Version 2.0 (Your solution does not work)
7.2 This REG key is enough to run WIN 11. The performance is better
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup]
    “AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU”=dword:00000001

In typical workstation applications this machine is about 30 % faster running Linux than Windows

This will not help your problem. This is just for info.

I think it is "bootrec /fixboot" always gives me permission denied.
As you noticed, the bootrec /fixboot command can no longer be used for boot repair (both on GPT and MBR disk).

Windows 10 version 1703 (April 5, 2017) and earlier installation media.
    - bootrec /fixboot ===> The operation completed successfully.

Windows 11 and Windows 10 version 1709 (October 17, 2017) and newer installation media.
    - bootrec /fixboot ===> Access is denied.

I have tested this many times. I have three working computers. I also have Windows 10 1703 installation media. I have never received "Access is denied" when using Windows 10 1703 installation media, but with newer version "Access is denied" comes every time.

This is how I recovered Windows without trashing my Fedora installation (which also works under secure boot). I followed this guide, but I didn't format the efi partition. I just deleted the Microsoft folder, so it wouldn't trash my Fedora boot.

Windows 10 and 11 Wont Boot, How To Fix UEFI Partition - YouTube

You do the following from your Windows install / repair USB.

    diskpart
    list disk
sel disk (the one with your boot)
    list vol
    - here you want the FAT32 drive without a letter. Mine was 600mb in size, having been created by Linux.
    sel vol (that volume number)
    assign letter=v
    v:
now go into efi (it might be efi/EFI) and delete the Microsoft directory and all within.

go to C (I had to enter my bitlocker code to get to see C).

    bcdboot c:\Windows /s v: /f uefi

I wouldn't have had the confidence or knowledge to go ahead with this solution without having read and digested what I read here. Many thanks to all. Now I can choose to boot either Windows or Fedora from the bios boot menu.
